Work at NCC : Travel scholarship
Regulations

§ 1 Purpose
NCC AB has declared itself willing, during the period 2001-2007, to make a travel scholarship available each year for students of civil engineering or the equivalent at colleges of advanced technology/universities with civil engineering courses in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

The purpose of the trip shall be to examine practical building- and civil engineering technology in other countries, thereby giving in-depth knowledge within the central field of competence.

The scholarship is intended to contribute to the education of the recipient and does not comprise reimbursement for any work on behalf of NCC.

§ 2 Scholarship procedure
a) Scholarship students

Between 7 and 10 students from relevant university/college engineering courses in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland are selected each year.

b) Committe
Students are nominated by a committee consisting of the Dean/Head of the Civil Engineering Faculty at the respective college/university, or another representative of the college/university, the chairman or another representative of the student body at the respective college/university, and a representative of NCC. The latter shall be chairman and convenor of the committee. Scholarship students shall be selected by 30th of April at the latest in the respective year. The decision of the committee is final.

c) Notification
The chairman or other representative of the student body shall, in good time and in a suitable place on the college/university premises, put up a notice with information about the travel scholarship. The representative of the student body shall, after consultation with NCC's representative, arrange an information meeting for the students on the courses concerned, at which they shall receive information about NCC's Travel Scholarship.

d) Applications
Students in their final year on the relevant courses may apply for a scholarship. Candidacy shall be motivated and be furnished with all necessary documentation.

e) Criteria
The criteria to be fulfilled in connection with the nomination of candidates shall be good academic results, involvement in the student union or similar non-profit associations and good camaraderie.

f) Presentation of scholarships
Presentation of the scholarships takes place at a ceremony arranged by NCC.

g) Taxation
In accordance with current legislation, the recipient of a scholarship is not liable to pay tax on it.

§ 3 Field of application
It is the donor's wish that the study trip shall be arranged by NCC and shall be undertaken jointly by the scholarship students from the relevant colleges/universities in Scandinavia. A suitable destination for the trip would be one of the foreign operations which the NCC-concern runs, or a project in connection with which the company otherwise has good contacts.

The time for the trip shall be August/September and shall be reckoned to last for approximately 10 days.
If special circumstances can be accounted for, a scholarship student may undertake an individual trip on the condition that the destination, the purpose and the timing can be approved by the committee referred to in § 2 b).
